Case Study
Anonymous Global Pharmaceutical Company:
BMS Design and Commissioning
This case study refers to a global biopharmaceutical company with operations headquarters in Ireland. The site houses a large-scale biologics manufacturing facility and is also used to house packaging and testing operations.
In 2016, Sirus was engaged to supply, install and test a new Building Management System (BMS) associated with the Bulk Biologics Facility.
The Solution
The new Building Management System consisted of a Qualified BMS (QBMS) and a Non-Qualified BMS (nQBMS).
Sirus supplied a ‘Siemens Desigo Insight’ building management system (53 PXC100-E.D BMS controllers) which consisted of:
- 51 Non-Qualified Control Panels, 3,522 I/O, 8 Thin Clients
- 1 Qualified Control Panel, 88 I/O, 1 Thin Clients
Sirus supplied all control panels and field devices. The systems were installed in a Virtual Machine environment on the Windows 2012 server platform.
The Result
Sirus is proud to have successfully delivered this large-scale, rapid build and commissioning project to the highest standards.
“The BAS execution overall was a big success! Thanks to all the Bristol-Myers Squibb, Jacobs and Sirus folks that were part of the BAS team for making that happen.”
