Flex: Precision Cooling Installation

Flex is an American multinational technological manufacturer, the third largest global electronics manufacturing services, original design manufacturing company by revenue. In 2014, Sirus replaced two old Liebert CCU’S in the comms room at Flex, Cork as they were over 16 years old and contained R22 refrigerant and were no longer able to control the room space.

The Solution

Sirus installed two new BLUEBOX 35 Kw Datatech CCU’s, including all new pipework and cabling and repositioning of the outdoor condensers to a more accessible position. The units were then set up to communicate with each other to perform duty/standby scenario and provide redundancy to control and maintain the space temp to 21°C. A month later Sirus installed 4 No 45KW downflow BLUEBOX Datatech CCU’s serving two testing chambers, as the client was required to test computer components at the desired temp of 33°C+/- 2°C. Sirus supplied and installed two units in each chamber mounted on specially designed and manufactured air discharge plenum boxes.
